but now he walks and even though he normally pauses to greet beck whenever he sees her - now seems a bit different. like he doesn't notice her at all until she's closer, and then he blinks.
and then moves to give his bow in greeting, delayed.]

She can imagine how much of a shock it is for someone who was close to him, to lose him at a time they didn't have a way to anticipate.]
