Oh, trust me, that part is absolutely the worst! I had to accept the fact that I'd go broke the next time I wanted to have a good drink long ago. Fortunately, the free alcohol here is a nice touch.
[One of the only nice touches...]

Mm, alright! Don't get lost!
[He just
pours himself another shot in her absence and slams that back, too. By the time she wanders back over, he's humming to himself and stacking peanut shells in one hand.]

Mm, there are some parts of it that are arguably quite enjoyable! I like the electricity and movies and running water, too.
[Going back to life in 200 AD is going to be......... rough.]

[HE SURE DOESN'T but behold, the reason no one fucking explains anything to him:]
Better than being moved directly into the dirt!
[He just goes along with everything so smoothly that it probably seems like he actually knows what he's talking about.]

[He immediately sets his stack of peanut shells down (ruining the tower, which was more of a blob anyway) to applaud her triumphant return!]
Ah, marvelous! I knew you could do it! That's already steps one through ten done successfully, then!
[SINCE WHEN.]

[He appreciates it... He'll miss hot water and easy hand washing stations so, so much.]
Oh, I do intend on bringing back as many ideas as I can! My world's already embraced more than a few of my inventions, so I can't imagine adding a few more would be any stretch.

[Hoo boy they're already doing... great.]
Both! Might as well err on the safe side.
[HOW IS THAT SAFE. He also starts pulling eggs out of the carton?? He's just putting them on the counter... These are not the dry ingredients.]

Oh, plenty of things! Spirit attraction flags that can draw entities toward the user, a compass that can direct you toward ghouls and other creatures, songs that pass directives to the undead...
[Also a bunch of actual curses and other various blood arts-y type nonsense but she doesn't need to know that... Though he leans forward a little with a tiny twinkle in his demon eye almost conspiratorially, and adds:]
They gave me so much trouble for being unorthodox but used my inventions so readily! That just attests to their usefulness, I guess.

[WELL. He's coming back to the room with a bottle and some snacks. That sure was an investigation! Did they ever find more than one body?? We'll find out in ten minutes but i'm just writing these starters now because i do what i want and wwx's reaction would be the same either way UNLESS IT IS BECK AND IF IT IS I'LL KILL YOU
Anyway.]
—Another weekend on the way, hm? It feels like it's been forever since this all started.

[YEAH WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH THAT. TERRIBLE.
But yeah he absolutely does not blame her for not looking around and will fight anyone who would even think to give her grief over it.]
It was Shiraishi this time. [A beat, but it's not like she's not going to see it tomorrow, so:] He was also decapitated and some of his organs were placed around the ship.

That was my first thought, but I've heard it's likely Maou's demon was the one who did that. We either have another brutal one on our hands, or one that just saw how easily Maou's demon got away with its crime last week.
[An easy kill copycat...]

[A beat, and he shakes his head.]
Kagachi is the one who told me, and I don't know the answer to that, unfortunately.
[He does look pretty genuinely apologetic about it, though.]
But we do think that it rotates - whoever is responsible for dispatching the demon early.

[He WISHES HE KNEW.]
Well - the last person who managed to dispatch one of our dear friends was Kanesada, so.
