[By the time she wanders into the cafeteria, it's a welcome sight in its own way; at least, the lack of any erotic imagery is a breath of fresh air, even if she'd much rather not be in this situation at all. While she looks hesitant about taking a seat, she does, near the other person she sees in this area.
As she glances over the selection of food:]
What do you think the chances are that it's drugged?
...Yeah, I know what you mean. It's pretty crazy, right?
[It hits her suddenly, how young this girl looks - not too much younger than her in the scheme of things, maybe, but still a teenager if she's guessing right. If Beck is freaked out, she wonders how Monika must feel.]
No sweat. Same here, you know? I mean, I'm hoping this'll be over pretty quick, but until we get out... I don't know what I would have done if it were just me, honestly.
Mm, something like that...! It might have just been my dad.
New York! Really? Wow... that’s amazing! I’ve always wanted to visit. It’s in so many stories and plays and poems...! I’ve always wanted to see it. I’m kind of jealous!
[That was... a lot. She's sure everyone is fairly exhausted after everything they've just gone through, but she hasn't forgotten about the offer she made Monika. That's why she seeks the younger girl out, and when she spots her in the break room a while after the trial concludes, she's quick to enter in.]
[ Monika makes a small noise, offering a wincing smile. She seems embarrassed. ]
It's silly... I feel bad for making such a scene. I just have these, like ... recurring dreams. I mean, I guess you can call them nightmares. In them, I'm trapped, unable to move or even think... all that fills my mind is static and flashing colors, and all these screaming noises. It just goes on and on and on, until I finally wake up again.
What we all saw just ... reminded me of those dreams, really strongly. I never, ever thought I'd see something like that when I was awake.
Hey, Monika... [She reaches out to put a hand on her arm.] You don't have to be embarrassed. I mean, even I was really freaked out by those, and it didn't even remind me of anything like that.
[She pauses, tilting her head.]
I promise I'm not trying to psychoanalyze you or anything, but... When did those start?
[Here she is, coming on into the panthouse. She still looks fairly saddened by everything that's happened, but she addresses Monika nonetheless, taking a breath as she enters.]
...I don't have to convince you of anything. I know she's in there, and I know she's stronger than you think. I'm going to talk to her no matter what your opinion on it is.
w0, friday
As she glances over the selection of food:]
What do you think the chances are that it's drugged?

Who knows. 25%?
[ Her smile is rueful. ]
If it helps, I feel okay so far.
no subject
It does help. And... They probably could have done that while we were sleeping if they wanted to, so we're probably good.
[And as such, she's taking a seat and a plate. This is a strange situation for introductions, but all the same—]
I'm Beck. What's your name?
no subject
[ hm. ]
Monika. Nice to meet you, Beck. Thanks for joining me. It’s nice not to be alone. This place is so...
[ .... you know. ]

[ Monika will smile at her. It’s nice to have company, especially calm and thoughtful company. ]
Me too. I guess... we’ll at least have each other, huh? That’s something. Adversity really has a way of transforming strangers into friends.
no subject
[She's slipping fully into Big Sister mode, here, as she looks over at her.]
We should probably learn more about each other in that case, huh? Where are you from?
no subject
I’d like that, Beck.
[ Monika hums, tapping her chin. ]
Japan, actually! I know my name probably doesn’t sound Japanese... haha. It’s always kind of stood out, compared to my friends. What about you?
no subject
[She sounds curious, but she continues on all the same.]
The states. I was raised in Nantucket, which is a small island off the side of Massachusetts... But I'm living in New York City right now for school.

w0, saturday.
...Hey. What are you doing in here?
no subject
[ she smiles crookedly. ]
Hey. Did you come to find me...?
no subject
I was wondering if... you still wanted to talk about it. Whatever you're feeling.

It's silly... I feel bad for making such a scene. I just have these, like ... recurring dreams. I mean, I guess you can call them nightmares. [ Monika hides her face in her hands. ]
Seriously, I'm so embarrassed!

week one, saturday.
...Hey.

[ thaaat’s Demonika! ]
You do not have the clout to convince me to let you speak to her, little girl.
no subject
she's done with demons.]
...I don't have to convince you of anything. I know she's in there, and I know she's stronger than you think. I'm going to talk to her no matter what your opinion on it is.

[She takes a step closer, crossing her arms.]
We already beat you once. I can do it again if it means I get to talk to her.
no subject
.... I’ll consider it. But only for a price, Beck.

there is a wide, satisfied smile. ]
You know what? You’ve already paid.
no subject
but she will at least press both hands over her mouth, shaking her head. She’s wan, now. Pale and tired and ... angry. ]
No. No. It’s a trap. Please just go..!
no subject
[She looks relieved to see her back to herself for a moment, even if she looks disturbed by the paleness and the last thing that creature said.
Almost instantly, she reaches out to put a hand on her shoulder. She wants to ask about those words, but first—]
Deep breaths, okay?
[She tries her best not to sound condescending when she says that; she isn't sure what else to do.]
