...the one that stuck with me the most was probably This Side of Paradise. [He was, in fact, looking at Fitzgerald for a reason when they were in the library.] When I first read it I thought it was kind of depressing, but looking at it now I sort of get it a lot better.

[There's a low laugh.] I don't really know what I am anymore, but that probably sounds right. I...spent a long time not really seeing what humanity was like. Now that I have, I can't really go back to being overly optimistic. Maybe that's why I'm still okay with fantasy sometimes.
