[After the "exciting" start to their day, Beck will find herself wandering into the lounge but...she's not alone? She's not alone because there's a guy there in front of the liquor cabinet and seemingly searching through the bottles before pulling out a nice bottle of scotch.
He shouldn't be doing this. He should be on his game and figuring out what's happening, but...his nerves are a little more than rattled. As he shuts the cabinet, he turns to find a glass and he spots Beck standing there. He pauses, giving her a slow nod of acknowledgement before going about his business.]
You don't know anything about how we got here, do you? [He could stand to start with "hello" but he's past pleasantries by now.]
[As she enters the room and sees him (and the liquor), she sets her duffel bag down heavily before shaking her head. She’s trying to keep calm, but it’s not hard to detect the stress in her voice all the same.
As soon as they leave the room, she's heading towards the lounge - but it seems like Junpei is going the same way. She looks towards him as they both walk, looking fairly unhappy about that entire situation.]
[He doesn't reply. He's not sure he can because wow, that sure was something. It means he waits until they enter the lounge, heading straight for the liquor cabinet.
God. This is familiar in a way he doesn't want.]
I'm not the one who got touched by...what, a snuff ghost? What the fuck was that.
[...the lounge actually makes him a little uncomfortable currently, but he figures maybe it's best to do another sweep. He heads back into the room, arms folded tight over his chest and footsteps light as he walks.
The damn chair was never put away, and he eyes it cautiously before his gaze catches someone else. If he felt more friendly or like they were closer, he would say something stupid like "hey stranger" or open with a joke. Instead, he's approaching with caution because Beck doesn't seem too thrilled either.]
[By now, she's realized that her headache won't go away so easy. When combined with the ever present nausea, some might take that as a sign not to come here... But despite that, here she is.]
[She hasn't been wandering around too much after the investigation, so when Junpei comes to the room... Opening it when she hears the knock, she pauses as soon as she's seen him. As awful as she's feeling about this, she can't imagine what it might be like for him.
She steps backwards to give him room to enter if he wants, but at the same time:]
[He's not sure what his face even looks like right now, but he's guessing probably not great if that's the first thing she says. She steps back and he follows into the room, walking slowly and looking around the room.]
...I've looked everywhere. There's only two places he could be and both options kind of suck. [...] Three options, maybe, but one's probably impossible.
[Carlos had made them promise to let this happen. Carlos had made them promise, but Junpei hadn't thought about what the fuck was going on when the ritual started. If it weren't for Beck, he would have jumped straight into the fray the moment Carlos started melting but he feels her grab his arms and he can only stand by and watch.
Granted, staring at the circle means seeing the weird-ass warping and he immediately gags as the dizzying sensation hits and combines with the already present mild hangover. He folds like a weakly built house of cards, stumbling backwards when the cycle is complete and watching everyone pile out.
He's quiet for a second, staring at the circle before he looks back at Beck, features pale and openly horrified.]
...we need to go. [The only reason he says it like that is because he can't even think of where to go. Please help.]
[It’s almost lucky that she gets distracted by stopping him. It means that she doesn’t have to see the worst of the damage, but of course, she can still hear the screams. That might be why her grip on his arms is just a little too tight, or why he might feel her face press into his shoulder.
As he stumbles backwards, though, she lets him go. For a moment, at least - when he says that, she hesitates for just a moment before grabbing his hand and leading him out of the room. She doesn’t know where she’s going, either.]
[The aquarium's lovely isn't it? There're fish...and water...and more fish...and as Beck's here looking around, should she make her way through the tunnel and into the comfortable room, she'll soon hear a voice from...a pile of blankets???]
[It takes some time, but he does eventually approach Beck's room and knocks on the door quietly. He's wrapped up in the same leather jacket as before and he seems to be debating something.]
[She opens the door as soon as she hears him. Compared to last week, she doesn't look too upset, but - nothing about this situation is comforting, either. Regardless:]
[After the trial concludes, she heads out onto the deck for some air. She isn't intending to use the pool or the hot tub, but when she sees Junpei sitting near the latter... She heads his way, taking a seat beside him.]
...Hey. I hope I'm not, like, intruding on your alone time.
[He has his feet in the water and his jeans rolled up to his knees, leather jacket wrapped around his body and hands in his pockets. He looks up when he hears Beck though, giving her a soft smile that doesn't match most of his usual expressions from the last week.]
You're one of the few people that's never an intrusion, Beck. [He scoots over if she wants to join him.]
[The projection room in the theater is a little weird. He finds himself wandering up there on Tuesday afternoon, mostly out of curiosity and mostly because he's so fucking tired of Shrek. He's so tired of Shrek?? The first day it was funny but the second day it's aggravating and he ventures off to see what he can do about it.
Unsurprisingly, there's someone else there, but there's a slow and easy grin when he realizes it's someone he actually likes pretty well.]
Please tell me you've got something else to play because if I see Shrek one more time, I'm jumping off the boat. Again.
[Drip. Drip. Drip. He's cold, he's wet, and he's a little pissed off after listening to that announcement. Beck will probably notice that he's patting down the pocket of his pants for something before he settles to answer her question.]
I dove into a pool of blood and corpses. [Said like he's just now actually catching up to what happened, so. Sort of. He runs a hand through his hair, water leaving from his fingertips.] God...I don't know what we're gonna tell Escha.
[She's looking for him tonight, and after checking a few different places... She finds him in the aquarium, blanket pile in full force. In any other situation, she might laugh, but now she just heads his way.]
[He's buried in his blanket pile and his eyes are peering out to stare at the fish in the tank, but when he hears Beck he doesn't do anything to stop her from approaching. Instead, he lets his gaze slide her way, sinking further into the pile.]
...hey. [There's a 50/50 chance he's very cold or he's flat-out hiding, but who knows.]
[Now that aphro's week's over, he finds himself a little relaxed. He also finds himself in the library again today, browsing the shelves when he finds someone he's a little more interested in. If Beck's nose is in a book, or rather, if she's focused on something else, he'll just wordlessly walk up behind her and read over her shoulder.]
This place is probably a dream come true for you, isn't it?
[She looks like she's scanning through the fiction section; if he's paying close attention, he'll notice that she's specifically looking through the 'F' section.]
It's huge. I could probably stay in here for years and not even make a dent.
One day you'll realize, Beck, that I always have time for you. [He looks up from whatever he's doing (a book, most likely) and grins a little.] What's up?
[Haha, well, at some point one of two people will tell Junpei about Beck's eye which means he's hauling ass across the hotel? Like flat-out running to the elevator and going up to the second floor and over to Beck's room where he assumes she'll be. Knock knock, Beck Beckson.]
[By the time she's come back to her room, the wound has been cleaned out and stitched, but... While it looks better than it did, when she opens the door, he'll be able to see the sutures running from her left eyebrow to about halfway down her left cheek. That eye is closed, but there are sutures on the eyelid itself. It's cleaned up, but it still looks painful; the skin around the area is red and angry.
[On Tuesday, Junpei immediately goes to find Beck in the afternoon and walks up on her good side where she can see him properly. He looks a little eager but uneasy all at once.]
You know. I kinda thought bingo was reserved for old people.
[She’s heading towards his room partway through Thursday; when she sees the open door, she still knocks lightly, not wanting to come in without invitation.]
[He really only plans on finding a few people himself. Everyone else was circumstance, and as he walks toward her room he seems to be a little worried? So. He gets there and immediately knocks.]
If you could tell me that you're in here and not dead, that would be the best news I could hear right now. [Help.]
[After that disaster of a night, Junpei leaves the others to do as Junpeis are wont to do. That is to say, his team split up and he went to shower and dissect his notes and information and not sleep even though he should probably take a nap. As it is, later in the afternoon he's up and he's on his way to hunt down Beck. The first place he's going to check is her room though and he'll knock on the door to patiently wait.
[She opens the door after a few moments. It might take a few seconds longer than normal because of the injury, but she looks about as good as she can after all that happened overnight. Since her shirt is a lost cause, she's in her alternate outfit, a simple black dress with a bird print on it. She's showered as well, of course, so all that remains of the goop is the stain it's left on her hair and skin.
When she sees it's him, she raises her hand in greeting, stepping back to let him in.]
[Given that it's Beck he perks up almost immediately.]
Hey. [He looks a little tired as usual but there's an easygoing grin all the same.] The optimistic answer is "not much" and maybe I like that answer a little better.
