She asked me if I thought this place was real. If it could maybe be a simulation, because she was part of one that was similar to this. That this place reminded her of that. [ he sighs ] AI was the closest descriptor we could come up with for her.
It'd explain a lot of the discrepancies about this place, and it's a lot simpler an explanation than the... separate haunted dimension thing. [ he shakes his head ] But it's one explanation among many. I've been keeping it in mind, but not taking this place as it presents itself could be dangerous. So... I guess I'm keeping an eye out.
No kidding. [ he hums ] Right now, I'm working off the assumption our best bet is to figure out what happened to the previous group. We know something happened to someone's brother, and we know our ghostly friends' trip with demons wasn't nearly as haunted as ours. They had personal announcers, according to the one from Friday.
Definitely more deadly. But who brought the demons to them in the first place? The burn book, the announcements, this place... This wasn't a cruise gone wrong.
I'd say murdering three people to get laid is a little more than stupid.
[ he's never getting over that so let's move on-- ]
...but I also don't think it's a coincidence that two rooms were conveniently unlocked, as well as the rest of us conveniently unconscious, on top of the only person in this place being able to partially read that book being one of the four sent up to the room containing it.
I'd like to think no one else here would've gone that far, but I can't know that. Maybe it would've been someone getting tricked instead of baited, maybe someone would've gone mad with the wait-- there's no point in spiraling into what could have been. She has, and we're living with the consequences.

[She tilts her head, curious.]
Like... What kind?

[She sighs.]
What do you think about it?

[But, anyways.]
So... You think whoever sent Polly and the others up there wanted the demon to get unleashed, or whatever?
