[It looks for a moment like she’s deciding what to say, but:]

You’re definitely not wrong about that. [So:] I get it.

[ he looks like he kind of wants to say something else, but he. closes his mouth ]

[And she does, but that doesn’t change the rush of emotion she’s feeling all the same. She takes a second, but after a pause:]

...What were you going to say?

[ ... he looks away and shakes his head ]

Nothing. I-- do you want me to go?

...Right.

[While she was upset before, she was at least trying to do her best not to sound like it. Now, though, both her expression and her voice make it clear enough she thinks he isn’t telling her the truth, and she sighs.]

Whatever you want. I’m going to read for a while, though, so. Probably boring for you.

[ ... dick shoves his hands in his pockets, looking away. ]

Right. Boring. I-- [ he sighs ] I'll see you around, Beck.
