What, you worried about me? [ dick. ] Mild electrical burn. It's superficial damage. My suit's partially insulated, so it wasn't as bad as it could've been.
[ he lets out a short laugh, but he would've even if her tone hadn't been joking tbh ]
Sorry, just being honest. [ he doesn't sound too sorry, moving on!! ] I decided to do a little exploring of my own and managed to get into the door on the other side of the employee break room. Found a breaker box, but it was locked-- and apparently didn't appreciate being pried open. It shocked me and caused that blackout.
[ it's stated pretty matter of fact, like it ain't no big deal to get fucking mildly electrocuted ]
Yeah, couple of things. The breakers were labelled, so-- good news, the other two locked rooms are a "grand ballroom" and a gift shop. [ exciting? ] We had access to the power for something called a... "panthouse", too. With an a. First time I ever hope someone somewhere is bad at spelling.
[ he hesitates before sighing, running a hand through his hair ]
Nothing as bad as what happened to you guys. Aizawa took the door off its hinges to try and make sure it stayed open, and nearly got rammed when it slammed itself back up and into position. It felt like... something cold passing by us. The breaker box rattled by itself at some point before I gave up on finding the key and went to try to pry it open. [ a beat ] There were... scratch marks, at the bottom of the door. Human ones. And the light bulb in the room-- it turned on fine, but it was flickering in a pattern. Morse code. SOS.
[ he sounds. quiet, at that last one. ghost?? light??? hm ]
But that's as bad as it ever got. No visions for us.
Neither. The worst wasn't the haunted mansion lookalike. There was a notebook... The only thing legillible on it was a coded message-- solved, it read "Hard to look at him in the eyes knowing it might be there. It's a reminder: don't trust anyone. Sorry my friend."
That and the PA announcement. They're all painting a picture. A, a very specific, horror movie-esque picture, and I'm not sure how much we can trust what we've found just yet, but ... It's all we've got to go on.
... [ he sighs. yea. yea that's gonna happen probably. ] We'll-- cross that bridge when we get to it. We can't even access it right now, so let's concentrate on what we can.
Breaking into the rooms on the floors we currently have access to? [ baby steps??? ] We need to learn as much as we can about this place and what happened here previously, since it's sounding a lot like it might happen to us, too.
Kinda. Or, I... used to be. I'm kind of on a sabbatical from teams. [ he shakes his head ] I started when I was nine, so, I had a partner back then too. I graduated from that a couple of years ago.
[ use your words and say you were a sidekick, dick ]

[To his question, at least. She still looks a little bit worried as he continues on, even as she nods.]
Hopefully it doesn’t hurt too much.

Fair enough. [ u_u ] But it's fine, I've had worse.

[Her tone is joking, at least, before she moves on.]
What happened, anyways?
