[When Higekiri comes looking for Beck, he finds her in the industrial kitchen. It doesn't look like she's making any food; instead, she has a kettle on to boil, and some tea from the pantry sitting out. She gives him a small wave as he comes in.]
Hey there.
[She seems calmer than last night - calm enough to give him a smile, at least.]
hope that we're all having a good time with our puzzles!! but after they're all done, it looks like they're free to go! so that means we're all being dumped out into the open and somehow, higekiri's paths will cross with beck.
it might be worth noting that he's shirtless. it seems like his white clothes are neatly tucked underneath his arm, but he's unfairly casual as he strides out easily into the hallway, chest and shoulders seeming to glisten just a bit (don't touch them, they're stick). he ends up making eye contact with beck, and he - as usual - crosses an arm across his chest before he bows to her in greeting
and then offers a smile, as though he's not gloriously half-naked, dancer's physique on display]
[It's a few hours after the announcement plays that Beck is in the kitchen. She can't say she really has an appetite after all that, and maybe that's why when she sees Higekiri, she's ignoring whatever she might have been eating to glance his way.]
[She turns towards him and gives him a nod when he approaches her outside of the kitchen. She looks... upset, still, but she tries not to let too much of it enter into her voice.]
[Beck has spent most of the day so far looking around the new areas that have opened up; the aquarium and the casino draw her attention for a while, but it isn't too long before she heads to the pool area. She doesn't go into the water, though. When Higekiri finds her, she'll be standing in the sunbathing area, looking out on the ocean around them.
As she notices him approaching:]
Hey there. It's nice to finally get some air, right?
[it takes time for hige to be separated from his brother, honestly, but when he does see beck again he looks far more serious than he did at the boutique]
... the person - Prom... something... - he was staying with myself, my brother, our other brother, and our friend last night. But he is important to my brother...
Tomorrow, even more certainly than last week, I would like to find the perpetrator.
[That's the first thing she can think to say; she might not have known Prompto at all, but the fact that this has happened again is still a tragedy, and there's a wave of sympathy that passes through her as she listens to Higekiri.]
Is there anything in particular I can do to help...?
[i said hey what's up hello- here's higekiri!! he was rather scarce on wednesday for whatever reason, but it sure does look like he's back up and about on thursday. though.... it may be a little hard to catch, the way he ever so slightly favors his left leg whenever he takes his strides forward - even though his pace doesn't seem slowed at all
when he sees beck, he bends at the waist in greeting and is just a little bit more ginger about his left arm crossing over his chest]
Good morning.
[though one of the stupid toys will come running up to try to pummel him
and he'll just step on it with his left foot without even blinking]
[By then, she's spoken to Wei Wuxian, and that means she's looking around for him. She glances over him as soon as she sees him, taking note of the differences in the way he moves.]
Hey. Are you—
[And then the tiny, stuffed gremlin appears, and Higekiri steps on it. After she stares at that for a moment:]
[It's mid afternoon when they're both resting in his bed afterwards. She takes a breath as she shifts so she's laying on her back, before turning her head to look at him.]
[higekiri left the party very quickly after the announcement. he'd been distracted all day, searching for dimitri, and perhaps he found an answer - but it's not one that he likes. so he goes to change, and then he wanders and wanders and wanders.
it's hard to say if he has a destination.
but now he walks and even though he normally pauses to greet beck whenever he sees her - now seems a bit different. like he doesn't notice her at all until she's closer, and then he blinks.
and then moves to give his bow in greeting, delayed.]
[She shakes her head as he apologizes, the concern clear on her face. She noticed the way he left the party so quickly after that announcement, and while she didn't know Dimitri herself... She can imagine how much of a shock it is for someone who was close to him, to lose him at a time they didn't have a way to anticipate.]
No, it's alright. I just... wanted to see how you were.
[Wherever Higekiri happens to be tonight, Beck is approaching him. She looks a little bit nervous, for whatever reason, as she starts this conversation.]
[Well, if he didn't know, it'll become obvious as soon as she opens the door. It's been disinfected and stitched up, so at least he missed the worst of it! Still, there's white cloth over her eye, and sutures moving from her eyebrow down to the middle of her cheek. The area around the cut itself is red, the skin swollen.
She steps backwards to let him in, but she doesn't say anything.]
[She decides it would be best to give him space for a while, but... After some time has passed prior to the trial, Higekiri is getting a knock on his door.]
[They're in his bedroom as usual, more likely than not. She's relaxed after they're both done, and while she doesn't have her head on his chest (purely because it would touch against her ears and she dislikes the reminder of the changes), she's looking his way from her spot on the bed.]
I kind of feel like a broken record, but - thanks. That was nice.
week zero, monday.
Hey there.

I was looking for you... I think.
