You don't have to apologize. [ he's obviously trying not to look amused ] It's okay to be scared or have doubts, you know. But if it's a choice between believing we will or not? I know what I'm picking.
Well, first off-- big flashy sign in the middle? Makes for a good target.
[ ha ha. funny. ]
It's to literally be a symbol. Something that can give people hope, something to believe in when the world isn't always... easy for that. No one wakes up after tragedies and keep going because it's ingrained in them to believe the best in the world. It's something they have to work for, every day. Part of my job's to help people think it's worth it.

[She looks his way, though, curious about where he's going.]

Just thinking. All of us with roles... We're supposed to be able to do more, but I think most of us have been feeling pretty useless this whole time.
no subject
But, I mean... Not to discount that on your end or anything, but yours is a net positive, right? Nothing bad could happen with more information.
no subject
Doesn't feel like I've learned anything with the information I've gotten. But yeah, I guess.
no subject
[There's another small pause.]
But that probably doesn't help that feeling, does it?
no subject
Nope. Like I said... I think it's a feeling a lot of us share. Rational or not.
no subject
It'll be nice once all of this is over, won't it?

You really think we'll make it out of here?
no subject
I do.

You think believing in something is a choice?
no subject
... Yeah. I do. Think it's one people make every day.

You've never thought of it that way?

Do you know why superheroes have symbols?
no subject
Why?

[For now, she'll stick with this.]
No matter what, it's really important. What you do, I mean.
no subject
I don't know about me personally... but thanks.
no subject
I mean, you're an important part of it. You shouldn't discount that.
